Day 1
Nairobi to Amboseli National Park and Return
Your day begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or agreed location in Nairobi. Travel south toward Amboseli in a pop-up roof minivan, passing through changing countryside and local communities. The drive generally takes around 4–5 hours each way, depending on traffic, road conditions and the park gate used. An early departure is essential to make the most of your time in the park.
On arrival, enter Amboseli National Park for a game drive across its open plains, marshes and woodland habitats. Look for elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes and predators, with sightings depending on animal movements. When the skies are clear, Mount Kilimanjaro may provide a memorable backdrop for photographs. Enjoy lunch during the excursion, then begin the return journey to Nairobi in the afternoon. Expect a long day, with arrival time affected by traffic and time spent inside the park.
